Thanks for this simple but lovely post! The best advice I’ve been given is from my immigrant mother. She told me when I just started working to “do your job well”. Because her advice is so deeply engrained in my work ethics, I’ve learned to enjoy every job I’ve had. I saw every job as a challenge to be better and as a way to show my appreciation of the fact that I am able to work. It’s quite liberating actually…to know that despite whatever job you have, you have the freedom to choose to do it well.
