It Just Won’t Take
I just realized setting the featured image as one of our wedding photos on a post titled, “It just won’t take,” is probably not a good idea but hopefully, you keep reading and you get it.
A few weeks ago, someone asked me if I still don’t wear jewelry. And the answer is, “I do not.” I actually don’t own any. The last time I wore earrings was on our wedding day in 2009. The last time I wore necklaces consistently was in 2012. And the last time I wore rings every day was when I had an existential crisis and got fake nails in 2015 (wtf).
It got me thinking about other things that I’ve tried to incorporate into my wardrobe, my life and my routine that just won’t take. Here they are:
- Wide leg jeans. If anyone can convince me otherwise, I give up on a 5ft tall person being able to wear these.
- Bras with wires in them.
- Under eye cream. Isn’t this just lotion in a tiny bottle? Again, please recommend something that will change my life.
- Heels (although I’m cheating a bit because I still own a pair).
- Oregano oil. Long story.
- Dave Matthews Band.
What about you? What just won’t take?

nail polish.
contacts for my eyeballs. unless i’m on a boat or at a beach which happens only 1-2 times a year and even then i’d rather not.
lipstick. tried so many. all have failed. lip balms with a tint have the most success but barely. lol -

Seriously the most relatable list EVER. I also don’t wear jewelry and I’m pretty sure my mom and sister think I’m an alien because of it.
The Dave Matthews Band one made me laugh LOL!

Essential oils. I’ve tried, but just not my thing.
Anything besides my rainbow sandals or barefoot in the summertime.
Haircuts. It’s probably been about a year. I just never remember!Funny story about earrings at my wedding. I had the perfect pair picked out, aaaaand I totally forgot to put them on. We got married just with our immediate family + while we were enjoying dinner, I noticed and it made me happy knowing I wasn’t focused on putting my earrings on but rather the important moments of that day.

Please tell the long oregano oil story!
