Sanity Regained
As we’re nearing the end of May, I wanted to recap the #30DaysToSanity challenge. I can honestly say that I regained my sanity this month. April left me feeling exhausted and frustrated. I had taken on way too many freelance projects, I was working every night, and I just felt unhealthy. Taking on the sanity challenge wasn’t really about following each and every guideline but rather taking on a new frame of mind. Choosing three new things to try really set the tone of my month. It allowed me to set non-work related goals and freed me to use my weekends for fun and not work. We joined a gym down the street and carved out time during our evenings to get our heart rates up! It makes sitting at a desk not so bad after all.
I spent Memorial Day weekend with friends and family. I made strawberry mojitos, painted my nails, relaxed and enjoyed myself. I’m ready for June and all the new things it will hold. I’ll be sharing my “Try 3 New Things” on Friday. I’m going to make it a monthly tradition. I’ll be sharing some fun, big changes coming to Show + Tell on Friday. It has me excited about blogging again–I have a feeling you’ll all enjoy what’s to come.

hurray for sanity!!
lately, i have been working out what i need to do to stay sane myself. i’m currently not accepting any new work since my knee surgery. once i’m cleared to go back to derby, then i’ll go back to accepting new work. until then, i’m lounging around doing things i want to do while slowly regaining my sanity.
when i do return to accepting normal amounts of work, *i swear to only accept normal amounts of work*
i will only work full time hours on tuesdays and thursdays and a half day on friday (easier for me since i work from home).
in the mean time, each day i pick 4 things that i will put on my to do list, to complete no matter what.
2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. 2 big and 2 small.
and then i single-task them to death.
it’s been working for me!

Happy to hear that you’re feeling relaxed after a month of down time and new things. I am so in need of hitting the refresh button soon. I will say that this is my first month of writing consistent blog posts and I am LOVING it! I’m excited to see what new things you have to share and what additions you have to your blog. Yay!

Yay! So glad you’ve been feeling more sane. And feeling happy and re-inspired about blogging is always nice. There are times when blogging has kind of a lull for me too.
Also, funny that your 3 Things works so well. Have you ever read anything by Leo Babauta? He often talks about selecting your 3 MITs (Most Important Tasks) each day. Maybe three is the number!
