Win Your Spot in a Photography E-Course

I’m so, so, so excited to announce that Kara is giving away a spot in her photography e-course, the M, here on Show + Tell! I love Kara’s work and creativity so much that I asked her to judge my April photo challenge. If you’re someone that wants to really learn how to use their DSLR, I would highly recommend entering into this giveaway (or just paying to take this 2 week e-course) so that you can use the camera and all its potential. Using my cameras correctly really transformed my life. Whether you’re using it to document your life, change the look of your blog, or want to do this professionally someday…it’s for you! Hear what Kara has to say about it:

I’ve heard from too many people how they’re scared to slide their camera’s setting from Auto or Shutter/Aperture Priority over to the the big M. I was too! My settings didn’t move out of Auto until a year after I got a DSLR. But, one day I decided to learn Manual and I haven’t switched it back since!

If you’re a blogger who wants to bring your blog to the next level with its own unique photographs or an Etsy shop owner tired of low quality photography representing your amazing product, The M will be a fantastic resource for you! Or if you just want to take better photos of your family, self, and life!

This class is for anyone who wants to learn the technical aspects of digital photography in an easy to understand and unintimidating setting. The class starts at the very basics– camera and lens recommendations, exposure, composition, lighting, and Photoshop corrections. It ends with basic tips from everything from landscape to portrait photography and includes free Photoshop actions, film photography tips, challenges, critiques, and inspiration. Most of the focus is on portraiture, but other subject matter is covered.

The class material covers two week’s of thorough, daily lessons, tips, and ideas.

In order to enter this giveaway, you must comment below and tell me why you want it! Why do you want to become better? Why do you love taking photographs? What confuses you? A random winner will be chosen and announced Friday. You have until Thursday at 11:59pm EST to enter.

This class is normally $45.00 and is a self-paced e-course that can be purchased and accessed at any time. You don’t need to start the class tomorrow (it’s just available starting tomorrow). You’ll be able to log into a private blog where the e-classes will take place! It’s amazing! Find out more info by visiting Kara’s post about the M or bypass this giveaway and purchase your spot instantly! Good luck!

  • I’d love to win this ecourse as I’d like to include more of my photos into my blog. That’s usually kind of hard to do as most of my photos are out of focus or blurry! This ecourse would help me so much :)

  • What a great giveaway Allie! I would love to become a better photographer for blogging and personal use, and to be able to actually know what I’m doing when taking pictures! The manual setting on my DSLR as a whole confuses me {since I’ve never attempted it, I couldn’t pinpoint one specific aspect}. Thanks for introducing me to this e-course – I’ll probably purchase it even if I don’t win! :)

  • I would love to take part in this e-course because my DSLR confuses me to no end. I am trying to dabble more in the manual setting for my digital camera. I started out doing film photography, so I am familiar with the manual settings, but with my digital camera it just doesn’t make sense to me! My blog is all about mail and mail art and I want to take better pictures of the fabulous things I receive in the post.

  • I would love to win this. I want to learn more about food photography and how to obtain the perfect shot.

  • This is exactly what I need! After I received my DSLR as a Christmas gift, I’ve been lost and confused. AutoEVERYTHING = my best friend. I’d love to be able to take a class, learn how to use my camera and develop my photography skills in order to use it on my blog and upcoming projects for work. Being able to develop a professional portfolio will help me work with clients, interviews and talk with photographers I collaborate with on my site!

  • I would love to win this (and if I don’t, I’ll probably buy the course anyway!) – I think it’s an amazing-looking course. I only recently switched into M, just to see what I could do. The answer = nothing! I love my DSLR, but in honesty, I barely know it at all! I’m about to move to a new country, and I’d love to have improved my photography skills so I can capture my new town, friends and home so much better.

  • i have been running a business with a point-and-shoot for years & for the most part, it had worked fine.
after *years* of pining for a slr, i finally did it.
ive had my camera for almost two months now & am still pretty nervous to do much with it.
i have played with manual off & on, but would LOVE to be a part of this class.

[actually, one of my april goals is to take this class!!]

  • I want to win this course because I regretfully look back on the amazing places I have been that I have not done justice to with my lazy habit of pointing and clicking. I have an awesome camera; I need to learn how to use it!

  • I know how to use a camera on aperture priority mode, but would love to get all the way onto full manual. Right now my DSLR and I are good friends, but I’m hoping we can take this relationship to 1st base…or maybe even 2nd! ;)

  • I’ve been looking everywhere for a good course but just didn’t know which one! I’ve had my DSLR for over a year now, and I’ve been playing around with the manual. I am still extremely confused though and still do not fully understand how it works. I want to improve my photography skills because I love photography and want to start taking portraitures as a small side business/hobby.

  • I would love to win this class! I love Kara’s blog and I think it would be an awesome way to get re-inspired to take more photos for my blog. (and just of everyday life!)

  • This is awesome! I’d love to take an e-course because I’ve moved onto the manual settings but I still feel like I’m missing something. I have a hard time breaking out of my comfort zones, and I’d love to feel more comfortable taking pictures of people, quickly!

  • I would love to win because I’ve rarely touched the manual settings of my camera. and I wanted to take better pictures, too.

  • Jessica

I never ever thought I would say this, but I would really love to win this course. This post spurred me to pick up my husband’s Nikon D300 and after trying out one tutorial online, I finally figured out to take a pretty ok picture in manual! I still can’t figure what type of blog I would like to start, but if I did, knowing how to take lovely photos would be a big help!

  • My lovely boyfriend Frank knew that I have been wanting to get into photography and for Valentine’s Day, got me a Canon Rebel. I took a photography class a year ago in school, but it didn’t stick because I was so unaware of how to use the camera, I was flustered.

I have been using the camera more, but I know that if I were to take a more inclusive course, the looks that I have been accidentally creating with my camera would be under my control.

I want to know what settings are used (Aperture Priority, etc.) for what.

    Good luck to me!

  • Such a great giveaway! I would LOVE to win a spot in this course, because I am just starting to navigate through the manual settings on my DSLR and would love to be pointed in the right direction! I’m living in Spain and want to capture my time here with beautiful photos that I’m proud of. Thanks for the opportunity! <3

  • Mollie

    Awesome giveaway!

I rarely ever put my name in for blog giveaways because I always think “somebody else could use this or needs this more than I do.”

THIS prize, however, is made exactly for me! I absolutely love photography, and have been getting more into taking photos for families, etc. I recently dived into using the big scary M and it’s been great! I haven’t dived too far, but I’m so anxious to learn more and create better photographs. Pick me!

  • rachel murrow

what an awesome giveaway!! I just got a DSLR for christmas and know there are so many things i need to learn! I love taking pictures for just about anything, (ask my husband, i drive him crazy sometimes!), just started to attempt a blog, and love scrapbooking!!

  • What an amazing giveaway! I would love to win a spot in this course, as someone who jumped into photography and is still grappling with the technical aspects. I would love to become better versed in technique in order to bring more the ideas in my head to life!

  • I would love to win this class! I need something to motivate me to switch out of auto… this is even one of my 30 before 30 goals for this year!

  • I recently started a blog to help me in my pursuit of getting better as an artist; specifically in photography. So this class would go right along with the goals i’ve set for myself this year. I recently upgraded my camera from a Canon Rebel XTi to a Canon T3i and i’m eager to learn as much about “manual world” as possible. [:

Winning this would be so helpful in growing my knowledge of the photography world.
