Brand Spotlight

I’ve owned my regular pair of TOMS since 2008 and they’ve held up for almost 3 years. This past weekend, I finally bought a pair of wedges and my love for TOMS hit a new level. They’re so comfortable and adds a little bit of height. We’re definitely looking into purchasing their sunglasses next. For those that aren’t aware of TOMS and what they’re about, here is an excerpt from their website:

In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers.

Last weekend I also experienced LUSH for the first time.

If you’re not familiar with LUSH, here’s what they say on their About page:

We believe in making effective products from fresh, organic* fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics.

We invent our own products and fragrances. We make them fresh by hand using little or no preservative or packaging, using only vegetarian ingredients, and tell you when they were made.

We believe in buying ingredients only from companies that do not commission tests on animalsand in testing our products on humans.

We believe in happy people making happy soap, putting our faces on our products and making our mums proud.

We believe in long candlelit baths, sharing showers, massage, filling the world with perfume and in the right to make mistakes, lose everything and start again.

We believe our products are good value, that we should make a profit and that the customer is always right.

I was able to try out the bath bombs (pictured above) and the lotion. I REALLY loved the products and they left a really subtle scent for the rest of the evening. Another great perk was that they provide pre-wrapped gifts so you can pick up a sample of some of their most popular products. Prices for the gifts range between $10-$200 (the Greetings From giftbox was $20, pictured above).
